This week was definitely school-heavy! Now that we’ve covered Hangeul, we’ve officially moved on to learning phrases—and wow, it’s been a lot to take in. Luckily i've got some great classmates that have made learning Korean a fun, interactive experience.

t’s still tough recalling some of the sounds and words quickly, so outside of class I’ve been spending quite a bit of time studying. Flashcards, writing drills, and lots of coffee shop sessions have become part of my new normal!
What We Learned This Week
We’ve covered so much in just a few days. Here’s a quick list of what we’ve learned so far:
How to ask someone’s name
How to ask where someone is from
How to ask what someone’s job is
How to ask what something is
How to ask for someone’s phone number
Numbers (so many numbers!)
Months of the year
How to ask someone’s birthday
How to order food or drinks at a restaurant or café
Currency basics
How to ask about the price of an item
How to ask where someone or something is located
It feels like the pace has picked up a lot, but I’m glad we’re jumping right into useful day-to-day phrases!
On top of regular class, I also signed up for a supplemental Hangeul class for extra practice with the Korean alphabet. That wraps up this coming Tuesday, and it’s definitely been worth it to reinforce everything I learned last week. Practice makes perfect :)

Outside of School
Even with all the studying, I made sure to balance it out with some fun.
Yes, I ate Kalguksu again (some traditions are worth repeating).
I was invited to join a new Airbnb Experience with my friend Jae, who runs Goodmate Travel. It was such a cool event—we got to try five different types of Korean drinks and meet people from all over the world. The vibe was super friendly, and I loved hearing everyone’s travel stories.

If any of you are planning a trip to Korea, definitely check out Goodmate Travel—it’s an amazing group of people who create really memorable local experiences!
That’s it for Week 3! I’m already feeling more confident navigating daily life in Korean, but there’s still so much more to learn.
